Planning Policy

key words urban policy

Planning policy keeps good cities on track and articulates the vision and direction for the urban planning to shape the development of better places for our towns, cities and regions.

Ensuring that planning policy is up to date, supported by an evidence-base and has a line of sight to detailed planning requirements for development control, are all key factors in creating and ensuring good planning policy. Our experience in analysis, review and providing recommendations on how to refresh planning policy has contributed to successful and implementable outcomes.

This includes experience in:

  • providing the revised framework for the amended National Capital Plan (Commonwealth Government, Canberra)
  • providing recommendations on incorporating active living principles into the Territory Plan (ACT Government, Canberra) and
  • research, advice and policy development for the Planning Institute of Australia on policy and advocacy documents.
